Does anyone else find it concerning how often firearms are involved in these tragic cases? It breaks my heart to think about Jessica's kids and what they must be going through right now. From what I've read, Jonathan Motte was arrested for having a firearm as a felon before anything else. How does someone like that get access to a gun in the first place? It’s baffling and scary to think about how easy it seems for people who shouldn't have weapons to get them. I hope the investigation sheds some light on this because it's something that needs serious attention. My thoughts are with Jessica's family and the Sylva community as they navigate this unimaginable loss. ?
I've been following Jessica's case closely, and I just can't get over the impact she had on those around her. It sounds like she created such a positive environment at Skyland Care Center with her love of singing. I bet every activity she planned was full of joy and laughter. It's so moving to think about how she touched the lives of her coworkers and residents. For someone with such a vibrant and giving spirit to be taken away like this is just beyond words.
Does anyone have more insight into how the Skyland community is coping? I imagine her coworkers and the residents are really feeling the loss. If there’s any local support or gathering to honor her memory, like the recent memorial, it could be comforting for the community during this difficult time. My heart goes out to her children and stepchildren—I can't even begin to imagine what they’re going through.
