I can't stop thinking about the impact this tragedy has had on Anzaryia Cobb’s daughter, who will grow up without ever knowing her mother. It’s such a heavy thought to consider that this sweet baby, barely a few months old, is now left without her mom. Anzaryia’s friends and family have spoken about how dedicated she was to her little girl, and it’s clear that she was setting a beautiful example for her by being a role model both on and off the basketball court. I truly hope the community comes together around her daughter and provides the support and love that Anzaryia would've wanted for her. It also makes me grateful for how quickly the Kinston Police were able to make arrests — it can't bring Anzaryia back, but maybe it’s a step towards finding peace for those who loved her. My heart goes out to her family; I can’t even imagine the pain they’re enduring right now.
