I've been thinking a lot about how Graig Bassett was planning to join the Army after graduating. It hits me really hard because it shows just how senseless and tragic this crime is. Graig had a path and a plan for his future, and it's just devastating to think it was taken away in a moment. My heart goes out to his family and friends. They must feel the weight of everything Graig could have achieved. I can't imagine the pain his dad is feeling, knowing his son had such dreams and potential. We all need to come together as a community to prevent this kind of thing from happening again. It's clear that something needs to change to make our neighborhoods safer so that young people can follow their dreams without fear.
