I can't stop thinking about Anwah Armbrister's senseless death and how devastating this is for his mother, Rita. As someone who works tirelessly in the NICU, she's dedicated her life to nurturing and saving others, and now she's facing an unimaginable loss. I can't imagine the weight she must be carrying right now. Does anyone else feel like this surge of gun violence needs more public attention? With no arrests and no suspects, it's so frustrating to see another young life cut short without justice in sight. I'm hoping the community can rally around his family and support the GoFundMe to help Rita through such a tragic time. It's just so unnerving to see this unfold, and knowing Anwah's death is part of a bigger picture of violence that day makes it even more critical for all of us to stay vigilant and push for change. Thoughts?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the tragic incident involving Anwah and the young girl in Brooklyn, and something that’s really puzzling me is how they both managed to get out of the building despite their injuries. It’s truly brave of them, especially given the severity of Anwah’s wounds. I can't even imagine the adrenaline and sheer willpower that took. I've been thinking about the layout of the building at 460 East 21st Street — does anyone know if it's a residential building or something else? I'm wondering if their familiarity with the place played a role in them getting out.
Also, for those local to Flatbush, how's the community holding up? I've read about the GoFundMe for Anwah's mom and really hope people are rallying around her. It must be unimaginably tough for her right now. Sending all my thoughts to those affected. Let's hope they get some answers soon.
Stay safe, guys.
Hey everyone,
I wanted to talk about the impact this awful event has had on Anwah Armbrister's school community. He was such a young, promising kid with his life laid out in front of him. Hearing from some students and staff at his school, it’s clear he was extremely well-loved and had a real knack for bringing people together. A few teachers mentioned a memorial they're planning to hold in his honor, focusing on peace and unity — something Anwah really stood for.
It's so moving to see people come together like this in times of such pain, especially since it seems like he left a positive mark on so many. If anyone's heard more about how this memorial is shaping up or how the school is coping, I'd love to know. It’s important to keep supporting those directly impacted, and share stories about the good he brought into this world. Let’s keep his memory alive while hoping for swift justice.
Stay safe out there, everyone.
