Has anyone else noticed the proposed plan by Albany PD to hire 20 social workers to help address domestic and interpersonal conflicts? It seems like such a compassionate and proactive step towards addressing the root causes of this senseless violence. I really hope it makes a difference and prevents tragedies like Rakeem Charleston's murder from happening in the future. It's so sad to see another life lost in our community. I didn't know Rakeem personally, but I can't imagine the pain his family and friends are feeling right now. Sending them all my thoughts and hoping for justice and peace.
