Did anyone else hear about the significant increase in scooter-related crimes in the Bronx and around NYC recently? It's absolutely devastating how these unsuspecting transportation modes are being used for such heinous acts. The shooting at East Mount Eden intersection involving Miguel Doleo and the others really brings this issue to light. I'm curious how successful the NYPD's crackdown on illegal scooters has been so far. Also, does anyone know if there are any community initiatives or discussions happening to address this? My thoughts are with the Doleo family and the other victims - can't imagine what they're going through.

Hey everyone, I've been following this tragic case from the Bronx, and I'm really curious about how the NYPD is managing their investigation process, especially with the use of technology. In a city the size of New York, it seems like a monumental task to track down masked suspects, especially when they use scooters for a quick getaway. I read somewhere that the NYPD often utilizes surveillance cameras and ShotSpotter technology to get real-time data in incidents like this. Does anyone know more about how effective these methods have been in helping solve similar cases? It's encouraging to see how technological advancements might aid in bringing justice for Miguel Doleo and the others injured. Thoughts or insights on this approach? My heart goes out to Miguel's family and friends. I can't imagine what they're going through, and I really hope the community can rally around them during this difficult time. Stay safe out there, everyone.
