Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about the neighborhood where Alec lived and how such senseless violence impacts the whole community. It's terrifying to know that something so tragic can happen inside what should be the safe confines of a home. Sherman Street isn't too far from where I grew up, and it hits close to home seeing familiar areas wrapped up in such sadness. My heart genuinely goes out to Alec's family and loved ones. From what I've read, Alec had a lot of people who cared about him deeply. It makes you really appreciate the times you have with loved ones. The part that’s been sticking with me is how Patterson was caught by the Marshals. It's a relief knowing that they managed to catch him without incident, but it still makes me wonder how someone with his past could find themselves back in such a situation. It seems the system might have missed opportunities to intervene and potentially prevent all this. Just hope justice is reached, and maybe through this, there's a push for better support and monitoring for those who’ve been through the prison system. Families shouldn’t have to go through such loss. Sending strength and peace to all touched by this tragedy.
