Has anyone else been following the Miguel Johnson case? I've been thinking a lot about the impact this tragic event must have had on the Central West End community, not to mention Miguel's family and friends. The fact that the altercation began right where Miguel and his girlfriend lived makes it even more personal and harrowing. It’s unsettling to think how quickly disputes can escalate to such violence. I've read that Patterson and Howard received 18-year sentences after their plea deals, but I'm left wondering if justice was truly served here. Did anyone else notice that both suspects were quite young? It makes me think about the broader societal issues that might lead individuals down such a destructive path at such an early age. Thoughts? How can communities come together to prevent situations like this from spiraling out of control in the future? It’s just all so incredibly sad for everyone involved.
