I just came across this devastating case involving young Darnell Macon, and it got me thinking about the broader issue of firearm safety, especially around kids. It's absolutely crucial to ensure that firearms are stored safely. I can't even begin to imagine the anguish his family is going through. My heart goes out to them during this incredibly difficult time. I read that St. Louis has programs providing free gun locks, which seems like such a vital step to prevent these kinds of tragic accidents. It makes me wonder how many more lives could be saved if more communities offered similar resources. If anyone here is familiar with similar programs in other areas or has experience with firearm safety education, I’d be keen to hear more about how we can spread awareness and prevent these preventable incidents.
