This case really gets to me, and I can’t stop thinking about how reckless violence can upend lives in seconds. I was reading through some updates, and it struck me how Karla Brown was just sitting there, completely uninvolved in the argument that broke out near her. It’s just so haunting to realize how quickly things can escalate in public spaces, places where we should all feel safe.
