Hi everyone, I've been following the news about the tragic shooting of young Dadrien "Chico" Valdez and can't stop thinking about the impact this must have on his friends and family. It's so painful to see someone so young become a victim of such senseless violence. I was particularly moved by the outpouring of support on the memorial page set up for him. It’s heartwarming to see how the community is coming together, even amidst this tragedy, to offer love and condolences. Lighting candles, sharing memories, and kind words might seem small, but they can mean so much to those who are grieving. Does anyone know if the city has any youth outreach programs that are active or could be supported/enhanced in Chico’s memory? It’s evident that more needs to be done to prevent such devastating incidents, and maybe helping other teens could prevent more families from experiencing this kind of loss.
