I’ve been thinking about little Mari Scott and the devastating incident that took his life. It's just unimaginable, really. What stays with me is how this situation brings such a harsh reminder of the importance of firearm safety, especially in homes with children. From what I understand, Mari had such a bright future ahead, full of potential and promise. His mother shared how smart and loving he was, which just makes this whole thing so much more painful to process. At five years old, he should have been worrying about starting school, not stumbling upon a loaded gun. I hope that this tragedy will lead to some real conversations and changes around gun safety in the home. It's something that affects so many families, and stories like Mari's should never have to happen. My heart goes out to his family, and I can't begin to imagine the depth of their loss. Let’s remember and honor Mari by advocating for safer practices to protect other children from such preventable tragedies.
