It's deeply unsettling to think about how little we can truly know about what's happening behind closed doors, even in a friendly and tight-knit community like the one Mary Ann and James belonged to. I didn't know them personally, but I remember Mary Ann's Electric Tan & More — it was a place full of warmth and hope. I always believed in her vision of turning it into a wellness boutique, a true reflection of her nurturing spirit. What really troubles me is that nobody seemed to notice any warning signs. James had been a Marine; I can't help but wonder about the kind of pressures he might have faced returning to civilian life. It's so sad that the people around them didn’t catch onto anything that might have helped, despite such strong ties to the community. My thoughts are with Dana and all the kids and grandkids who are dealing with this enormous loss. If any good can come from something so tragic, maybe it will make us more aware and supportive of those around us, especially our veterans.
