I’ve been following the recent case of Cortez Jawan Caples, and it’s just so difficult to wrap my head around it all. I can’t help but think about the neighborhood where this happened. East 69th and Brooklyn isn't exactly known as a high-crime area, from what I understand. It’s such a tight-knit community, and I imagine everyone must be feeling so uneasy knowing this occurred right on their doorstep. The fact that this escalated to gunfire in broad daylight is incredibly concerning. My heart goes out to Cortez’s family and friends; they must be going through an unimaginable ordeal right now. If anyone in that area saw or heard anything, I truly hope they find the courage to speak up. The community deserves answers, and they also deserve to feel safe again. Sending thoughts to all those who knew him.

I read somewhere that the shooting took place in broad daylight, which just seems so bold and reckless. It's shocking how such violence can happen right in the open. It makes you wonder if someone saw something but is maybe too scared to come forward. I hope the community realizes the importance of speaking up so that justice can be served for Cortez and his family. If anyone in the area knows anything, I really hope they find the courage to reach out to the police.
