Have any of you been following the case of Enger Abreu? It’s incredibly sad what happened to him outside La Famosa Bar. I’ve been reading that this area has been a hotspot for crime recently, and it’s concerning that it hasn't been addressed more aggressively by the authorities. It makes you wonder if this could have been prevented somehow. Why isn’t there more surveillance or a stronger police presence in known areas of trouble? I can't imagine how Enger's family must feel, having lost someone so young and with no arrests made yet. If anyone here is familiar with New Brunswick, do you think the community feels safe? And has there been any community response or movement to address the violence in the Second Ward?
I've been thinking a lot about the tragic events that took place outside La Famosa Bar & Liquor. Enger Abreu, at just 19, lost his life so suddenly, and it's really shaken the community. It's truly distressing to see how often these violent incidents have been happening in that area recently.
What worries me is how frequently we're seeing these hotspots develop, where violence seems almost inevitable. With five homicides in the Second Ward this year, it's like a shadow hanging over the community. I can't imagine what Enger's family and friends are going through right now. It must be so difficult to process something like this when answers and justice aren't coming quickly enough.
I hope that by keeping the conversation going and sharing any information, no matter how small, we might help piece together what happened that night. If anyone has any surveillance footage or tips, please reach out to the authorities. Every detail matters. Enger and his loved ones deserve justice, and it's up to all of us to make sure this doesn’t get lost in the shuffle of unsolved cases.
