I’ve been thinking a lot about what happened to the Alarcon family, and it's just really sad. I live a couple of towns over from Union, so this hit close to home. I heard from a friend whose kids went to school with Scarlett and Emma; they were both bright little girls. It's hard to grasp how something so devastating could happen right in our midst. The foreclosure and eviction must have been a tremendous strain on Andrea. It makes you wonder if enough support resources were available for them. It's a reminder of how critical it is for communities to be there for one another. If you notice someone around you might be struggling, please reach out or encourage them to seek help. It's heartbreaking for everyone left behind, especially those children who went to school with Scarlett and Emma. Schools and communities sometimes don't realize how much they can impact someone going through tough times. Sending all my thoughts to everyone affected by this horrendous tragedy, especially the students and staff at Hannah Caldwell Elementary. Be kind to one another and check in on those around you; it can truly make a difference.

I recently read about the Alarcon family tragedy in Union, NJ, and I can't help but feel the impact this has on the community, especially at Hannah Caldwell Elementary School. I can't imagine what the students and teachers are going through right now after losing two of their classmates, Scarlett and Emma. It's such a close-knit community, and events like this can ripple through, affecting so many people. It's reassuring that grief counselors have been brought in to help everyone process this unimaginable event. I hope the school provides continued support over the coming months because healing takes time, especially for young kids who’ve lost friends. This story got me thinking about how important mental health resources are in preventing such tragedies. It’s a poignant reminder that we should all look out for one another, reach out if we notice something off, and make sure that those suffering get the help they need. Sending all the love and strength to those touched by this loss.

I can’t stop thinking about the impact this tragedy must have had on Emma and Scarlett's classmates and teachers at Hannah Caldwell Elementary. It's really important to highlight the unsung heroes here—the grief counselors who were brought in to support the students and staff. We often talk about the loss the family faced, but the ripple effect on the community, especially the young children who had to confront such a harsh reality, is massive. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for Emma and Scarlett's friends to hear the news and process their absence. It's hard enough for adults to wrap their heads around this kind of tragedy, let alone kids so young. I’m grateful that their school took steps to provide professional emotional support right away. Those counselors are doing crucial work, helping kids find ways to express their feelings and begin to heal. Has anyone heard if there are longer-term plans to help the children and staff continue processing this tragedy? It's not something that goes away quickly or easily, especially when it's so close to home.❤️
