I've been following the case of Resheed Wallace, and something that's been sticking with me is the fact that a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were involved. It's deeply troubling to think about how young they are and the serious nature of these charges. What on earth could have led them down this path? It's a sad reflection on society when kids are involved in such violent acts. I can't imagine the pain Resheed's family is going through, and to think about the families of these young suspects too—it's a tragedy on so many levels.
I'm really hoping that as more details come out, we start to understand the why behind all this. In any case, it's a sharp reminder that we need to do more to help our youth make better choices before they reach such a damaging point in their lives. Sending strength to everyone affected by Resheed's tragic death.
