I can't stop thinking about that poor young man, Stanford Sharpe, and what his family must be going through right now. It's unfathomable to imagine losing someone so young and with so much life ahead of them. Something that's really sticking with me is why these teenagers had such easy access to firearms. It just makes my stomach turn thinking that an empty, vacant house might have been used as a hangout spot for dangerous activities. I grew up being told that these types of places are trouble magnets, and it truly makes me worry about how we can prevent tragedies like this in our communities. What are everyone's thoughts on how we can better address firearm accessibility among young people and make sure vacant properties don't become hotspots for such risky behavior? My heart goes out to Stanford’s family and friends during this impossibly tough time. Hoping justice is served for him and that this serves as a wake-up call to address these deeper issues. Stay safe, everyone.

I can't stop thinking about the vacant house where this tragic incident happened. It's terrifying to think that places in our community could become hotspots for risky behavior like this. I wonder if more could be done by local authorities or neighbors to monitor and secure such abandoned properties. It's chilling to know that Stanford Sharpe, just 18, had his life end this way and in such a place. My heart goes out to his family, who must be grappling with so many questions and emotions. I hope this tragic event serves as a wake-up call and propels some action to address these gathering spots more proactively. Does anyone know if there have been previous incidents at this location or others like it in Chesapeake?

I know it's been a few months, but I can't stop thinking about the abandoned house on Candlelight Avenue where everything supposedly went down. There’s something so eerie about how it was used as a hangout spot for kids, yet it wasn’t occupied. I'm from the area and can confirm that houses like these have unfortunately become common meeting places for teens looking for a place away from prying eyes. It's chilling to think of how Stanford might have been in a place he thought would be safe, yet it ended so tragically. I can’t imagine what his family must be going through, not only losing him but knowing it happened in such a dark and hidden away spot. Also, did anyone else find it strange how Jayshawn Brown allegedly had a casing just fall from his lap as he got out of the car? It just adds another layer to this mystery. I hope those who know more come forward because Stanford deserves justice, and his family deserves peace. Stay safe, everyone.
