Wow, this case with Edward Santiful and Erica Atkins is just so tragic and unsettling. I find myself wondering about the families and how they are coping with such a loss. Having a 17-year-old involved in these violent incidents is just mind-boggling. It's hard to fathom what led to these tragedies and what could have been done to prevent them. I'm particularly interested in how the community is processing this—it's not easy to feel safe and secure when something like this happens so close to home. For those familiar with the Portsmouth area, do incidents like this alter your daily routines or how you view your neighborhood? I'm hoping for some form of healing for the families and the community, though I know it's a long road ahead. How are others feeling about it? Any thoughts on potential preventative measures moving forward?
I just came across this case, and it’s been on my mind ever since. I can't imagine what Francine must be feeling right now. Losing a child is something no parent should ever endure. It’s so unsettling to think about how different things might have been if the gun violence in Portsmouth had been addressed sooner. The fact that a 17-year-old was involved is terrifying. We really need to look at how teenagers are accessing firearms and why some feel driven to use them. It's a call to action for the community to find ways to protect our youth and prevent future tragedies like this. Hoping for some justice for Edward and peace for his loved ones.
