I've been following the discussion about Tishaun M. Oliver's tragic death, and I can't stop thinking about the impact it's had on his football team at Indian River High School. It’s hard to imagine the immense loss his teammates and coaches must be feeling right now. From what I’ve read, he was more than just a player—he seemed to be a source of energy and friendship on the field. I read somewhere that they held a moment of silence before a game, and many team members have been wearing patches with his number on their jerseys. It’s a beautiful gesture, but it breaks my heart knowing these kids have lost not only a teammate but a friend. If anyone has more information about how the team is coping, or how they’re being supported during this time, please share. It feels like something we should discuss more, as sports often become a big part of young people's lives, offering them structure and a sense of belonging. It’s tragic when this space is touched by such senseless violence.
