I’ve been following the case of John E. "Gotti" Ladson since the tragic incident on October 19, 2024. My thoughts have been with his family during this incredibly difficult time. One thing that's been bugging me is the timing of the shooting. It happened around 2 a.m. on Maybank Highway—a pretty unusual time and place for something so terrible to happen, don’t you think?
I've lived in the Charleston area for a few years now, and Wadmalaw Island always seemed like a peaceful place. I can't help but wonder what John might have been doing out there at that hour. Was he meeting someone? Was it a random encounter gone wrong? I’ve read some comments suggesting it might’ve been a targeted act, but without any suspects or arrests, it’s hard to say.
It's frustrating how few details have been released. I really hope people in the community step forward if they know anything that could help the investigation. If anyone here has heard something, even if it seems small, it could be a crucial piece of the puzzle.
