I’ve been following the case of Jalen Littleton, and I can’t stop thinking about the impact this has on the community in Yazoo City, especially at his school. It’s so difficult to imagine what his classmates must be feeling right now. Losing a friend and peer so suddenly and violently can leave deep scars. I've read about schools bringing in grief counselors, but I wonder if that's enough to help kids process such a traumatic event.
If there’s anyone from the area here, have the schools or local organizations set up any ongoing support systems for these students? It sounds necessary given how close-knit small communities can be, and how important it is for young people to feel supported and heard during such a difficult time.
