I’ve been following the updates on Elvin McKinley Levy's case and it’s so deeply unsettling how the youth involved were so young. It's hard to grasp how teenagers could be wrapped up in such a serious crime. What's even more worrying is what this says about the societal problems we're facing in Jackson. The fact that our community lost someone like Elvin due to such a senseless act is just devastating. I think it’s crucial that we continue these conversations around implementing preventive measures. Hopefully, all the talk among community leaders will lead to real change. My thoughts are with Levy’s family and friends during this unbelievably difficult time. It’s clear that he was someone who will be greatly missed.
