I was reading about the detail where a man was seen fleeing, shouting, "I told you not to play with me!" It just sends chills down my spine. Can you imagine the fear of the neighbors witnessing such a terrifying event? It's particularly distressing when the violence isn't between strangers but family members—Melvin's cousin, Carleton Haynes, no less. It makes you wonder what could bring someone to harm their own blood like that. There have been too many tragedies like this in Jackson lately, and each one makes the community feel a little less safe. Sending all my love and prayers to Melvin’s family. It's crucial that we push for answers and support the investigation any way we can. No family should have to wait this long for justice.
