I've been closely following the tragic news about Zina and her son Zacchaeus, and something I keep circling back to is the impact this must be having on Zacchaeus's classmates at Forest Elementary. It's hard to even imagine how these young kids, just starting to understand the world, are processing this loss. I heard the local school board is bringing in counselors and has set up support groups for students affected by this senseless act of violence. It’s vital for their mental health and would hopefully help these kids feel less isolated in their grief. This small community must be rallying together to support each other during this incredibly tough time. Does anyone have more details on what other types of support or community initiatives might be taking place? Every little effort to help these kids and families cope matters so much right now.

Has anyone else been thinking about how this awful crime has impacted the students and faculty at Forest Elementary? I can’t even begin to imagine what friends and teachers of Zacchaeus must be going through right now. It makes me wonder if there's any sort of counseling or support system in place for them. Transitioning from such a traumatic event is unimaginable, especially for kids that young. If anyone is aware of resources being provided, or ways the community can help, please share. It’s crucial we come together during times like this to support each other and try to find some path toward healing.
