Has anyone else noticed the alarming increase in gun violence in Jackson? It's so sad about what happened to Devaun Johnson on Ellis Avenue. I can't imagine the pain his family must be going through right now. And then there's the female passenger who was critically injured – my thoughts are with her and her loved ones too. It's terrifying to think about how easily this could happen to anyone. I hope the authorities are truly focusing on reducing this violence, but is it just me or does it seem like things are getting worse? I've seen a lot of discussion on here about the possible motives and the backgrounds of the people involved, but I'm more concerned about how we as a community can prevent these tragedies from happening in the first place. What can we actually do to make our neighborhoods safer?
