I came across this case of Cesar Abrego, and it really struck a chord with me, especially with regards to how the community has rallied around his family. It's incredible to see everyone coming together to support them through the fundraising campaign. It's moments like this that really highlight the human spirit, even in such tragic times.
I hope the investigation continues to make progress with the arrest of Larry Stewart. It's vital that justice is served not just for Cesar, but to help everyone in Jackson feel a bit safer again. My thoughts are with his family and friends. If any locals here can suggest additional ways to support his family beyond the fundraising, I'm sure that would be appreciated. It’s essential we keep supporting them however we can.
Did anyone else attend the candlelight vigil for Cesar Abrego? I went last night, and it was both moving and somber. So many people showed up to pay their respects and support his family. It's clear he was loved and respected by those who knew him. I've been thinking a lot about how gun violence is affecting our community. It feels like we gather for these vigils way too often. I left feeling both comforted by the community's solidarity and frustrated by the ongoing violence. I just hope that the continued attention on Cesar's case helps bring justice and raises awareness so that there are fewer of these senseless tragedies in the future.
