I’ve been following the case of Marquise Cortez Hall’s tragic murder and thinking a lot about how this incident affects the community's sense of safety. Living in Flint, I know firsthand how unsettling it can be to hear about another senseless act of violence in our own backyards. Marquise was just 31, with his whole life ahead of him, and now his family and friends are left with an unfillable void.
It’s truly frustrating that no arrests have been made yet. What more can we as a community do to push for answers? I hope the local police remain transparent with the investigation, as it might urge someone with info to come forward.
I attended the vigil held last week, and the unity and support were powerful—everyone seems to want justice, not just for Marquise but as a message that this kind of violence cannot continue. It's time for a serious conversation about how these issues are being addressed, and hopefully, some effective changes can be made.
Thinking of Marquise’s loved ones as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. ?
Has anyone looked into potential surveillance footage from nearby businesses or homes? With the shooting happening in the early morning, it’s possible some cameras could have picked up something useful—like movements of a suspicious vehicle or person in the area. I know it might be a long shot, but sometimes these little pieces of evidence can make all the difference in moving the investigation forward. It’s painful to see Marquise’s family and friends going through this and I hope the community can come together to support them and push for closure in this case. If you spot something, even if it seems minor, it could be crucial. Let’s help Flint become a safer place by keeping our eyes and ears open, and sharing what we know.
