Hey everyone, I've been trying to wrap my head around this tragic event and the ages of the suspects involved. It's both shocking and sad to see youth caught up in such violence. My heart goes out to Makhi's family during this unimaginable time. It's clear that these young lives, including the suspects, have been marked by this incident, and it's raising questions about what more could be done to prevent youth from taking such dangerous paths. Are there any community programs in Lansing that could help steer kids away from violence, or increase awareness among parents and schools? It feels like we need to address this at its roots for the sake of our youth and community. Any thoughts or information are much appreciated.

It's troubling to see such young suspects involved in a case like this. I can't help but think about what could possibly lead two kids, a 17-year-old and a 13-year-old, down a path that ends in violence. It raises so many questions about what's happening in our communities that might be sparking this type of behavior in teens and even pre-teens. Makhi Williams was just beginning his life, and now that potential is lost forever, which is devastating enough, but to imagine lives on both sides of this tragedy being altered so severely is just difficult to wrap my head around. The ages of these suspects are shocking and, frankly, saddening. Lansing as a community will need to address this issue because clearly there's a larger problem at play here that's impacting kids. Sending thoughts of strength to Makhi’s friends and family. May they find some peace and perhaps advocacy for change through this unthinkable situation.
