Thinking about what Arely endured makes it all the more imperative that we talk openly about digital security and know the signs of domestic violence in all forms—not just physical but emotional and digital too. Holding Brown accountable is crucial, but we also need to support efforts to help victims before situations escalate to this tragic level. Could more extensive digital forensics have helped Arely earlier? I’m hoping this case raises awareness on how crucial those early warning signs can be in preventing such tragedies. My condolences go out to her friends and family during this incredibly difficult time.
