Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about what a tragedy it is to lose someone from our community like Toma Turner, or as many knew him, "Lil Pepa." I didn’t know him personally, but reading about his background, it still hits hard. It seemed like he was a familiar face to many, growing up and attending Benton Harbor Area Schools. It feels like such a loss to have this end in violence, especially with gun violence being such a troubling issue we’re facing in our area. Something that really bothers me is the bravery of the suspect fleeing on foot. It’s like he just vanished into thin air. How can someone just disappear like that in our own neighborhood? The fact that no one's been found or held accountable yet is worrying. Really hoping that someone will speak up soon. Justice for Toma and some peace for his family and friends is so needed right now. If anyone hears or knows something, I hope they’ll feel empowered to come forward. It’s crucial for our community to stand together and do what we can to prevent more tragic losses like this. Stay safe, everyone.
