It’s incredibly shocking to see how deeply intertwined personal and professional lives can become in such tragic situations. The recusal of Judge Daavettila is understandable, given his prior relationship with Dixon, but it must add another layer of complexity and delay to proceedings. The Michigan AG's involvement is a step towards ensuring the fairness of the trial, but the waiting game must be incredibly tough for Theron Duncan’s family and friends. I really hope the appointment of a new judge won’t take too long, and that the justice system works efficiently to provide some sense of resolution for everyone involved. It’s hard to imagine what the Houghton community must be feeling right now, knowing someone like Dixon, who many probably trusted as a legal advisor, is at the center of this tragedy. Keeping Theron’s loved ones in my thoughts. ?️
