I've been following the case of Joshun Laandre Edwards, and I'm deeply moved by how the community has come together during such a difficult time. One thing that I find myself reflecting on is how these senseless acts leave an impact on the local area. Having a shooting at a place like the Southside Liquor Shoppe, where many people in Flint often visit, really shakes your sense of security and routine. I can't imagine how those who were there at the time of the incident must be feeling, and my heart goes out to them, alongside Joshun's friends and family.
I'm glad to see that the Flint PD has been quick in taking action and has managed to have a person of interest in custody. It gives some hope that justice will be served. However, this is a reminder of how crucial it is for the community to work hand in hand with law enforcement to help piece together what happened. It's a tragedy that hopefully we can prevent from recurring if we all stay vigilant and support each other. Sending love and strength to everyone affected. ?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been following the case of Joshun Laandre Edwards, and something that's been weighing on my mind is the impact on the community around Southside Liquor Shoppe and Lapeer Road. I can’t imagine the sudden shock and sadness they must be feeling, right in their own neighborhood. This place that many probably visit regularly now holds such a painful memory.
A friend from Flint mentioned how unsettling it's been, and I think that's something we often overlook—the community trauma. Every time someone passes by, they’re reminded of the tragedy. I hope the city can come together in support during this tough time, not just for Joshun’s family but for everyone affected. It’s crucial for the neighborhood to feel some sense of safety and healing.
Let's lend an ear or a thought not only to those directly impacted but also to the entire community. Sometimes strength comes from unity in these challenging moments.
Keeping Joshun’s family, friends, and the whole Flint community in my thoughts.
