I’ve been following the case in Annapolis and wanted to bring up a part of this tragedy that doesn't often get much attention—the impact on first responders. We often focus on the victims and their families, and rightly so, but can you imagine being one of the police officers or paramedics who arrived at the scene that night? Walking into such a heartbreaking situation must be incredibly challenging, and those images likely stay with them for a long time.
I think it’s important for us to remember the emotional toll that these incidents can take on everyone involved, including the professionals who are tasked with these difficult jobs. I’m curious if any members here have experience in this area or know what kind of support systems are in place for first responders after they experience such traumatic events? It's clear that the ripple effects of violence touch many lives beyond those of the immediate victims.
