On the night of June 13, 2023, patrol officers in Bladensburg found a vehicle stopped on the 4200 block of Bladensburg Road at about 11:05 p.m. Inside the car was 28-year-old Daquan Givens-Coley of Mt. Rainier; he had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was described as a Black/African American male.

Investigators reported Givens-Coley was partially handcuffed when discovered and recovered two firearms from the vehicle, identified as a Glock and an AK-style pistol. The Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit took over the investigation. No suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been announced. A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
