I was looking through some old maps of the Mendocino National Forest, and it made me realize just how vast and unforgiving that area can be. It's so easy to become disoriented, especially for someone with dementia. Francisco Tyquiengco's case really haunts me because it seems like he might have just wandered off trying to find help. Has anyone familiar with the area noticed if there are any trails or landmarks nearby where his car was stuck? It just seems like getting lost there could have been all too easy, particularly if he was feeling overwhelmed. Any insights from locals or those who've hiked in that region would be appreciated.
