Francisco Tyquiengco, an 82-year-old retired U.S. Army Major, was last seen on November 28, 2021, in Sacramento County, California, where he lived with a caretaker. Tyquiengco, who suffered from dementia and had mobility issues, used a four-footed cane to walk. His silver 2007 Pontiac G6 was found in July 2022 in a remote area of the Mendocino National Forest, approximately four and a half hours away from Sacramento.
The car appeared stuck in mud, and it contained many of his belongings, including family pictures and clothing. Nearby, searchers found his jacket, wallet, and identification about 700 feet from the vehicle.
Authorities believe that Tyquiengco may have become disoriented after his vehicle got stuck, potentially succumbing to the elements. Although an extensive search was conducted, no trace of his body has been found. The case remains open, but there are indications that he may have suffered from hypothermia or a fall while trying to walk for help.Last Seen: Nov 30, 2021
