The loss of Shahid Omar Jr. has taken such a toll on his family and friends, and I can't stop thinking about how they had planned a baby shower the day after the shooting. It’s just so unfathomable to go from expecting to celebrate a new life to mourning one that’s been taken away. I can't imagine the pain of Omar’s family, especially knowing that he was looking forward to welcoming his son in just a couple of months. The timing makes this tragedy even harder to process. The fact that this happened while the community was already grieving for the loss of Khyree, Isaiah, and Anthony is just too much. I hope that by coming together and sharing any information we have, no matter how small, we can assist in finding some form of justice for Shahid's family. They deserve to have some answers and to know that those responsible will face the consequences. Sending lots of strength to everyone involved, especially to Omar's little girl and unborn son. Hoping for peace and justice for them.
