Has anyone else been following the heartbreaking case of Deputy Kaitie Leising? I’ve been thinking a lot about the importance of mental health support for law enforcement officers. Kaitie was known for her dedication and passion for her community, but I wonder how much support our officers really get in terms of stress management and mental health resources. It’s such a high-pressure job, and I can’t imagine what they go through on a daily basis. The details of that night are truly unsettling, and it’s a stark reminder of how quickly things can escalate. Are there any initiatives or programs in place that folks in other areas know of to help officers cope with the stress and trauma of their line of work? It’d be wonderful to hear about any successful programs or ideas—perhaps they could be implemented elsewhere to prevent further tragedies. My heart goes out to Kaitie’s family and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.
