I can't stop thinking about the tragic loss of Herbert Thomas III and the impact it’s had on his loved ones and the entire Milwaukee community. I didn't know Herbert personally, but friends who grew up with him said he was always the life of the party and had a smile that could light up any room. It’s deeply saddening that such a promising young life was cut short due to an encounter that’s all too common in our world today. I keep wondering about the policies regarding firearm possession for taxi drivers. While I understand the need for personal protection, it raises questions about the training these drivers undergo and if there's a better way to ensure both their safety and the safety of their passengers. If anyone here has experience or knowledge about how taxi companies manage this, or how communities can support both driver and passenger safety, I'd love to hear your thoughts. It's crucial that we come together to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future. To Herbert’s family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss, and I truly hope that justice is served.
