Collective minds, I can't stop thinking about the fact that Emmanuel Carter was shot right in front of a daycare. It’s just chilling to imagine that kids could have been around to hear or even witness something so terrible. Talk about the wrong place, wrong time, but why this area? I’ve been noticing that a lot of incidents seem to happen around community centers and schools. This is where we are supposed to feel the safest—our kids’ safe spaces! It’s infuriating and tragic that Emmanuel lost his life in such surroundings. In a neighborhood that already struggles with safety, it’s disheartening to think about the kind of trauma just being in that vicinity might bring to families and small kids going forward. Really hoping the community comes together to find answers and push for more protective measures. Let’s keep the conversation going around making these spaces genuinely secure for everyone. Keeping Emmanuel’s family in my thoughts as they endure this unimaginable loss.
