I’ve been following the tragic case of Dondras House over the past few days, and my thoughts go out to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. I wanted to discuss the broader topic of safety during holiday events in our communities. It seems like every year we hear about incidents like this occurring during what should be a time of celebration. What truly stood out to me was how this wasn’t an isolated incident that night in Milwaukee. There were multiple shootings, and it’s alarming how these patterns seem to repeat themselves. It raises questions about the measures in place to ensure public safety during large gatherings, especially on holidays like the Fourth of July. I’m curious about what steps the city or local neighborhoods might already be taking to address these concerns. Are more police patrols during events effective, or is there a need for community-led initiatives to prevent violence? Hope some local folks can shed more light on what’s being done or suggest what more can be done. Let’s keep talking about these issues so we can hopefully prevent more tragedies like Dondras’ from happening.

I can’t stop thinking about what happened to Dondras House. I just drove past 25th and Brown Streets yesterday, and it feels so different now, knowing what took place there on July 4th. It’s really rattling to hear that multiple shootings occurred that night. The city was supposed to be celebrating, but instead, we’re mourning. I didn't know Dondras personally, but I’ve heard he was well-loved and someone who genuinely cared about others. I can't imagine what his family and close friends must be going through right now. It's horrifying to see how gun violence is tearing families apart, and it seems like every week, there’s another story just like this one. I truly hope the community can come together to find proactive solutions to make our streets safer. To those who might know more about what happened, I hope you find it in your heart to come forward. Dondras deserves justice, and his family deserves to know the truth. We all need to stand against this kind of violence and support one another to create a safer Milwaukee for everyone.
