I've been reflecting on the long-lasting impact this tragedy must have on the community, especially the classmates and friends of Annette's son. Being a high school friend is such a formative experience, and losing someone at that age is profoundly difficult. I can't imagine what it's like for the students who knew him all those years. It's not only about losing a friend but also dealing with the harsh realities of life and violence at such a young age. The school district offering counseling is a necessary step, but I hope there's ongoing support for them beyond just the immediate aftermath because these kids could be dealing with emotional ramifications for a long time. It's a reminder to hold our loved ones close and support one another through unimaginable times. My heart goes out to all affected by this senseless act. How is everyone else coping with hearing about this, especially those who are local to Broken Arrow?
