Did anyone else see the latest updates on the CCTV footage from the night of Amare Geda’s tragic death? I'm concerned about how these tragic events seem to make rideshare work increasingly dangerous. Geda was just trying to earn a living for his family, and to think that a routine night in the SoDo area would end like this is terrifying. It's so important for us, as a community, to push for better safety measures for these drivers who are constantly exposed to risk while providing a vital service. I can't help but think about his children and how this unnecessary violence will impact their lives. Just wanted to share my thoughts and see if anyone had similar concerns or ideas on how we might better protect drivers in these situations.
I've been thinking a lot about the safety of rideshare drivers after what happened to Amare Geda. It's a real tragedy, and my heart goes out to his family, especially knowing he was just trying to make a living for them. It’s terrifying to think that such a violent act could happen while someone is simply doing their job.
I joined a vigil for Amare recently, and the sense of community and support was powerful. It’s clear that his loss has impacted so many people beyond just his immediate family. It makes me wonder about what can be done to ensure the safety of rideshare drivers. Are there any new measures or protective features being discussed by companies like Uber or Lyft in the wake of this incident?
We should be advocating for changes so no one has to go through such a loss again. It's essential that we keep having these conversations and pushing for a safer environment for drivers everywhere. If anyone has updates on safety initiatives or ways the community can support the Geda family, please share.
