I recently came across the Monique Jean case, and it's left me thinking about the kind of ripple effects gang violence can have on innocent families. While it's clear that her son, Enel, had ties to this underground world, Monique was just a hardworking mother trying to do her best for her family. The fact that she was caught in the crossfire of such brutality is just so distressing. It's also unsettling to realize how these gang rivalries can escalate to such extreme levels. The attackers were so brazen, ambushing them in broad daylight on a busy street. It makes me wonder about the fear and anxiety that must permeate the lives of residents in that neighborhood.
