Have any of you been following the tragic case of Pepe Jaquez's murder in Tacoma? I’ve been thinking a lot about the role that rapid police response played in this investigation. It's such a relief that they quickly tracked down the suspect, William Pierre Pelkey, in just a few days after the incident. In times like this, it seems vital for the community to see swift justice—it might be a small comfort in such a terrible situation for Pepe's family and friends. However, this case also brings up so many questions about gun violence in our neighborhoods. Are we doing enough to prevent these tragedies before they happen? It's deeply concerning and impacts everyone in the community. If anyone's in the Tacoma area, how are you all feeling about the recent uptick in violent incidents? My thoughts are with everyone who's been affected. Hoping we can gain more insight as the case develops, and maybe, just maybe, work towards some changes to better our community.
