We teach our kids to avoid violence, yet adults seem to forget these lessons all too easily. My heart goes out to Luis’s family, who have lost so much, and I can't imagine the pain they're enduring. Also, I'm concerned about the teenager involved in this. At 16, he's thrown his life away before it even began. How do we as a community prevent our youth from getting sucked into these violent lifestyles? It's a painful reminder that issues like this have no simple solutions, and more needs to be done to address the root causes of gun violence. This case is a call to action for all of us.
