I just came across news about Abdus Turner's tragic death at the Double Take Bar. My heart goes out to his family and friends. It’s so daunting to think about how a night out could turn into something so devastating. I grew up in Columbus and frequented German Village as well, and it’s genuinely unnerving to hear about such violence in a place many see as a vibrant community hub.
One aspect of this that doesn’t sit right with me is how there seem to be no suspects yet, especially with the bar likely being busy right before Christmas. You’d think there would be witnesses or security footage to help piece together the events of that night. I’m really hoping someone steps forward with information soon. It’s difficult to imagine how Abdus’s family is coping with the lack of answers.
I also feel for those who survived the shooting — it must be terrifying to be caught in the middle of something like that. Prayers for their recovery, both physically and mentally, and for Abdus’s loved ones to find some peace.
