I’ve been following Deandre Ferguson’s case closely, and my heart goes out to his family and friends during what must be such a devastating time. It’s so sad to see another young life taken too soon. I heard that in the days following his death, the local community really came together to honor his memory and push for change. Events like these are so important, not just for remembering Deandre but also for bringing attention to the broader issue of youth violence in Dayton. It’s clear that people are fed up and want to see meaningful action to prevent future tragedies. I really hope the community’s efforts lead to some positive changes. If anyone has updates on how the community can further support Deandre’s family or any ongoing initiatives, please share.
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share my thoughts on the vigil that the community held for Deandre Ferguson the other night. It was deeply moving to see so many people coming together to honor his life and call for change. You could really feel the love and solidarity in the air as everyone lit candles and shared stories about him.
It got me thinking about how we, as a community, need to do more to support our youth and find ways to protect them from these senseless acts of violence. It’s not enough to just mourn after these tragedies happen. I'm hopeful that the gathering will spark some meaningful dialogue and actions from our local leaders.
If anyone here attended the vigil or knows of any upcoming community initiatives, I’d love to hear more. Let's continue to support Deandre’s family and friends in whatever ways we can and push for safer environments for our kids.
Take care, everyone.
I've been following Deandre Ferguson's case, and my heart goes out to his family and friends. It’s gut-wrenching to hear about such young lives being taken by violence. Has anyone been able to piece together if there was any kind of gathering or event happening around the time of the shooting? I know the neighborhood can be quite active in the evenings, and sometimes these things escalate quickly from seemingly small incidents. Also, does anyone have any updates on whether the community's response or events have been making any real impact? I really hope they can make some headway with this case, not just for closure, but to help prevent such tragedies in the future.
