I've been following the developments in the Manchester shooting, and it's hard to fathom how something so devastating could happen in such a close-knit community. One thing that's really stuck with me is how people who knew Jimmy Shoemaker are speaking out about him. I read that Jessica, his former partner, mentioned how loving Jimmy was towards children. It makes me think about how not only was his life cut short, but the children in his life have lost someone who was so special to them. It’s especially tough to think about the loss from a child's perspective, especially in a small town where everyone likely felt a connection to him. I hope those affected can find the strength they need and that the community continues to rally around his family and friends. These kids deserve to hold onto the memories they had with him and know the positive impact he had in their lives. It’s moments like this where the town’s community spirit can become a source of support for those who need it most.
